— Accelerating Social Implementation of Data-Driven R&D Through AI and Lab Automation —

MI-6 Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Mitsuru Irie; hereinafter "MI-6") is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of the six startups for the 3rd Cohort of the "Growth Acceleration Program" organized by TECH HUB YOKOHAMA, Yokohama City's support hub for tech startups.

Through this selection, MI-6 aims to deepen collaboration with TECH HUB YOKOHAMA’s acceleration managers, venture capital firms, corporate partners, and domain experts to expand opportunities for new business co-creation and deployment across R&D sites.

Selection Overview

  • Program Name: TECH HUB YOKOHAMA "Growth Acceleration Program" 3rd Cohort
  • Organizer / Operator: TECH HUB YOKOHAMA (Yokohama, Kanagawa; operated jointly by Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. and Yokohama Future Organization)
  • Number of Selected Companies: 6 companies
  • Program Details: A program providing hands-on support tailored to the business stages and individual challenges of tech startups with high future growth potential. Centered around acceleration managers, a network of venture capital firms, corporate partners, and experts in intellectual property and legal affairs will collaborate to provide comprehensive support, including sales channel development, fundraising, proof-of-concept (PoC) testing, and IP strategy.

MI-6 operates a laboratory at "Yokohama Hardtech Hub" (Naka-ku, Yokohama) within Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' Yokohama Dockyard & Machinery Works, where it is advancing the implementation of R&D technologies, including lab automation.

In materials and chemical R&D, combining researchers' experience and insights with past experimental data, AI analysis, and laboratory equipment data has become essential for accelerating development speed and enhancing research productivity.

Rather than stopping at digital data analysis and experimental planning, MI-6 bridges these processes directly with actual physical experimentation and measurement. By doing so, we aim to evolve the R&D cycle itself—formulating hypotheses, conducting experiments, accumulating and analyzing data, and applying insights to the next iteration.

Through participation in this program, MI-6 will expand its collaboration with companies, research institutes, and startups clustered in Yokohama, thereby accelerating the social implementation of data-driven R&D utilizing AI, MI, and lab automation.
